To offer the best possible care to the dog teams, there were 8 veterinarians available during the race. Alongside chief veterinarian Hanna Smedstad were Kristin Sandstad and Sergio Maffi, both experienced veterinarians when it comes to long distance competitions, and volunteering veterinarians from Italy and Spain.
